This course provides students with a comprehensive background in the fundamentals of Machining, with a specific focus on Measurement, Materials, & Safety.  The core competencies covered in the training include Applied Mathematics, Filing, Fits, Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing, Inspection, Machine Maintenance, Machine Safety, Machining Applications, Materials, Measurements, Print Reading, and Shop Safety.  Upon completion, students will be eligible for the Measurement, Materials, and Safety credential sponsored by the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS).  NIMS is the industry standard for training and skill validation within precision manufacturing.
