Our Programs Prepare Students for the Real World: Here’s How

Students with in-demand skills become sought-after employees. Along with boosting individual success, prepared students also improve a school’s reputation—which can lead to increased funding and improved course curricula. Prioritizing success at the individual and school-wide levels shows you know how to prepare students for the future. Keep reading for some strategies to begin this approach.

Student Success With MedCerts

When students work with MedCerts, they get access to expert-created programs in the allied health and information technology industries. MedCerts offers a virtual learning environment that blends immersive, interactive learning with well-designed and educational material. Students get high-quality coursework that’s functional and real-world compatible, without passive lectures or non-relevant theory.

Here’s a breakdown of core MedCerts programs, using the Medical Billing Specialist program as a guide. This program has three courses designed for student success:

  • Professionalism in Allied Health: All MedCerts healthcare programs include this critical course, which looks at soft skills in the workplace and how students can remain professional on their own and while interacting with others. Students look at diversity and cultural biases, medical ethics, professional communication and patient interactions, drawing on soft skills that help them become the right candidate for the role.
  • Introduction to Human Anatomy and Medical Terminology: Allied health programs also include this course, which is packed with crucial information about body systems, sensory organs and essential medical terminology. Having in-depth knowledge about anatomy and physiology—learned in an engaging, interactive manner—helps students transition to real-world careers.
  • Insurance and Billing, and Coding Essentials: This course is found in MedCerts programs that deal with front office, billing and insurance claims. Students learn how to follow HIPAA and HITECH regulations, input the correct diagnosis and procedure codes, process claims and handle patient payments. These skills are essential to a robust healthcare industry and help ensure facilities have the funding and staff to provide patients with high-quality care.

How MedCerts Programs Prepare Students

Each MedCerts program works on how to prepare students for the real world using a blend of innovative technology, ongoing support, employer networks and in-demand career training options.

Innovative Technology

MedCerts uses their proprietary 12 Elements of Learning to bring innovative education to each student. From 3D demonstrations and screen-based simulations to scenario-based learning and standardized assessments, the programs bring students in as active participants and give them the tools for success.

Ongoing Support

After enrolling, students are connected with a Student Success Advisor to help with guidance and learning assistance. Instructors and support staff are available Monday to Saturday for live communication via online chats, email and phone.

In addition, this support remains active for 12 months post-program completion to give ample time to prepare for and take the certification, search for a job or find a clinical location. MedCerts helps connect students with Career Coaches who use their network of employers to identify potential opportunities.

Employer Networks

MedCerts works with an extensive number of employer partners in allied health and IT. Through the Career Center, students can search for careers, internships and other opportunities to find their dream role.

In-Demand Career Training

Each MedCerts program gives in-demand career training that helps students prepare for their future. Whether training to become a Dental AssistantEKG Technician or  NASM Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach, students who enroll in MedCerts programs get the training they need.

Partner With MedCerts

When students are prepared for the real world, they’re able to jump in with minimal on-the-job training. Career-ready candidates can also fill critical labor gaps and help organizations achieve their goals. MedCerts partners with academic institutions and universities across the US to offer Credit for Prior Learning, reselling and content licensing opportunities.  Partnering with MedCerts gives your institution a leg up in college enrollment and better outcomes for graduates as they enter the workforce.
