This Privacy Notice describes how we collect, use, and disclose information about individuals who use the website, applications, services, tools, and features, or otherwise interact with us (collectively, the “Services”) of the businesses which link to this Privacy Notice on their website (Galvanize, Hack Reactor, MedCerts, Tech Elevator, Road2Teach and Stride Professional Development) (each, a “Website” and together, “Websites”). For the purposes of this Privacy Notice, “you” and “your” means you as the user of the Services, whether you are a user, website visitor, representative of a company with whom we do business, or another individual whose information we have collected pursuant to this Privacy Notice. Please note that the Services are designed for users in the United States only and are not intended for users located outside the United States.

We may modify this Privacy Notice from time to time, in which case we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this Privacy Notice. If we make material changes to the way in which we use or disclose information we collect, we will use reasonable efforts to notify you (such as by emailing you at the last email address you provided us, by posting notice of such changes on the Services, or by other means consistent with applicable law) and will take additional steps as required by applicable law. You are responsible for ensuring we have an up-to-date active and deliverable e-mail address for you, and for periodically visiting our Websites and this Privacy Notice to check for any changes. If you do not agree to any updates to this Privacy Notice, please do not continue using or accessing the Services.
2. COLLECTION AND USE OF YOUR INFORMATION
Information You Provide to Us
Some features of the Services may require you to directly provide us with certain information about yourself. You may elect not to provide this information, but doing so may prevent you from using or accessing these features. Information that you directly submit through our Services includes:
- Contact details, such as name, address, phone number, and email. We use this information to create and maintain your account and to provide the Services, and to communicate with you (including to tell you about products or services that may be of interest to you).
- Demographic Information, such as your social security number and other demographic information like gender, ethnicity and sexual orientation, which we may collect from you under certain circumstances where required by regulatory or licensing agencies, loan servicers, or under applicable law for certain aspects of the Services. We use this information to comply with our obligations under data reporting laws.
- Account information, such as username, password, and security questions that you select and the answers you provide. We use this information to provide the Services and to maintain and secure your account with us. If you choose to register an account, you are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe. We recommend you do not share your access details with anyone else. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
- Payment information, such as credit or debit card information and billing address, which we collect using a third-party payment processor. We use this information to process your payment and provide the Services.
- Education Information, such as student ID, prior education, assignment content, course enrollment and progress, certification information, grades, graduation status, tuition and fees information. We use this information to manage our relationship with you and provide the Services.
- Job History Information, such as field experience, internships, academic progress in coursework, including transcripts, and externships. We use this information to inform school and education partners of any field experience requirements and to provide the Services.
- User-generated content (“USC”), such as messages, submitted by you through our virtual community. We or others may store, display, reproduce, publish, or otherwise use UGC, and may or may not attribute it to you. Others may also have access to UGC and may have the ability to share it with third parties. If you choose to submit UGC to any public area of the Services, your UGC will be considered “public” and will be accessible by anyone, including us.
- Any other information you choose to include in communications with us, for example, when sending a message through the Services or submitting information through one of the forms on our Website.
Information We Collect Automatically
We and third parties on our behalf also automatically collect certain information about your interaction with the Services (“Usage Data”). To do this, we may use cookies, server logs, script tags, pixels, and similar technologies placed by us and third parties (“Tracking Technologies”). Usage Data includes:
- Device information, such as device type, operating system, unique device identifier, screen resolution metrics, and internet protocol (IP) address.
- Location information, such as approximate location and time zone.
- Other information regarding your preferences and interaction with the Services, such as browser type, log data, date and time stamps, clickstream data, interactions with marketing emails, and ad impressions.
We use Usage Data to tailor features and content to you, improve our Services, manage our relationship with you, market to you, provide you with offers or promotions, run analytics, and better understand user interaction with the Services. Information Collected From Other Sources
We may obtain information about you from outside sources, including information that we collect directly from third parties and information from third parties that you choose to share with us. Such information includes:
- Analytics data we receive from analytics providers, such as Google Analytics.
- Information we receive from consumer marketing databases or other data enrichment companies, which we use to better customize advertising and marketing to you.
Any information we receive from outside sources will be treated in accordance with this Privacy Notice. We are not responsible for the accuracy of the information provided to us by third parties and are not responsible for any third party’s policies or practices. In addition to the specific uses described above, we may use any of the above information to provide you with the Services and to maintain our business relationship, including by enhancing the safety and security of our Services (e.g., troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, system maintenance, and reporting), providing customer support, sending service and other non-marketing communications, monitoring and analyzing trends, conducting internal research and development, complying with applicable legal obligations, enforcing any applicable terms of service, and protecting the Services, our rights, and the rights of our employees, users, or other individuals. 3. TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES
Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but you may be able to control the way in which your devices permit the use of Tracking Technologies. If you so choose, you may block or delete our cookies from your browser; however, blocking or deleting cookies may cause some of the Services, including certain features and general functionality, to work incorrectly. Our Sites recognize the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which enables you to opt-out of certain uses or disclosures of your information. If you notify us of your preference through GPC, we will honor your request only for the browser or device that sends the GPC signal. When you log into your account, the opt-out will extend to your account as well. - Vendors or other service providers who help us provide the Services, including for system administration, web hosting, infrastructure, information technology, customer service, event coordination, e-commerce service provision, email and phone outreach, software provision, cloud storage, security, customer relationship management, customer service, marketing communications, web analytics, payment networks, and payment processing.

- Financial service providers, such as lenders and loan servicers in the case of student borrowers.

5. SOCIAL FEATURES
Certain features of the Services allow you to initiate interactions between the Services and third-party services or platforms, such as social networks (“Social Features”). Social Features include features that allow you to access our pages on third-party platforms, and from there “like” or “share” our content. Use of Social Features may allow a third party to collect and/or use your information. If you use Social Features, information you post or make accessible may be publicly displayed by the third-party service. Both we and the third party may have access to information about you and your use of both the Services and the third-party service. 6. THIRD PARTY WEBSITES AND LINKS
We may provide links to third-party websites or platforms. We are not responsible for the information collection, use, disclosure, privacy or security policies, or practices of other organizations, including without limitation; Facebook, Apple, Google, Microsoft, or any other app developer, app provider, social media platform provider, academic products or service providers, operating system provider, wireless service provider or device manufacturer, including with respect to any Personal Information you disclose to other organizations. If you follow links to sites or platforms that we do not control and are not affiliated with us, you should review the applicable privacy notice, policies and other terms. We are not responsible for the privacy or security of, or information found on, these sites or platforms. Information you provide on public or semi-public venues, such as third-party social networking platforms, may also be viewable by other users of the Services and/or users of those third-party platforms without limitation as to its use. Our inclusion of such links does not, by itself, imply any endorsement of the content on such platforms or of their owners or operators.
7. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
Children under the age of 16 are not permitted to use the Services. We do not seek or knowingly collect any personal information about children under 13 years of age. If we become aware that we have unknowingly collected information about a child under 13 years of age without parental consent, we will make commercially reasonable efforts to delete such information. If you are the parent or guardian of a child under 13 years of age who has provided us with their personal information, you may contact us using the below information to request that it be deleted.
8. STUDENT’S PRIVACY
If you independently enroll in an educational program that we offer, you may have limited rights in addition to this Privacy Notice under the U.S. Federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”). You may have the right to limit access to certain directory information about you, as defined in FERPA.
9. MARKETING PREFERENCES
We may use a third-party email outreach service to communicate with you via any email address you choose to submit during the registration process. If you no longer want to receive marketing-related emails from us on a going-forward basis, you may opt-out by following the unsubscribe instructions in any such message or by contacting us at the e-mail, phone number or address set forth in the section below, How to Contact Us. We will try to comply with your request(s) as soon as reasonably practicable. Please note that if you opt-out of receiving marketing-related emails from us, we may still send you important administrative messages, from which you cannot opt-out.
We may also send you information via text message. You may choose to stop receiving certain text messages by replying STOP to a text message you receive from us.
We reserve the right to send you information on our behalf and on behalf of third parties in connection with providing the Services. If you no longer want to receive this information from us, you will need to close your account for that Service or opt-out of receiving this information through your account settings.
Despite our reasonable efforts to protect your information, no security measures are impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee “perfect security.” Any information you send to us electronically, while using the Services or otherwise interacting with us, may not be secure while in transit. We recommend that you do not use unsecure channels to send us sensitive or confidential information.
We retain your information for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes specified in this Privacy Notice and consistent with applicable law. When determining the length of time to retain your information, we consider various criteria, including the circumstances under which we enter into an ongoing relationship with you and provide the Services to you, the length of time we have an ongoing relationship with you and provide you with the Services, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal information, whether there is a jurisdictional legal obligation to which we are subject (for example, certain laws require us to retain enrollment records for a certain period of time), whether retention is advisable in light of our legal position (such as in regard to applicable statutes of limitations, to enforce our contractual agreements, to settle a dispute, litigation or regulatory investigations), and as necessary to prevent harm, promote safety, security and integrity, or protect ourselves, including our rights, property or products. Even after data is deleted from our active databases, we may continue to have information in archive files or similar databases. If your account is closed or deleted, information may still remain in backup or archive records; we may retain certain data relevant to preventing fraud or future abuse or for legitimate business purposes, such as analysis of aggregated, non-personally-identifiable or de-identified data, account recovery, or if required by law.

We only use and disclose sensitive personal information for the purposes specified in the CCPA. The criteria we use to determine how long to retain your personal information is described in the section above, Data Security and Retention.
Selling and/or Sharing of Personal Information
We do not have actual knowledge that we “sell” or “share” (as those terms are defined under the CCPA and used throughout this section) personal information of residents under 16 years of age. However, we do share certain categories of personal information and, in the preceding 12 months, we have sold and shared the following categories of personal information about residents for marketing and improving the Services:

Users Under 18
Any California residents under the age of eighteen (18) who have registered to use the Services and who have posted content or information on the Services can request that such information be removed from the Services by contacting us at the e-mail, phone number, or address set forth in the section below, How to Contact Us. Such request must state that they personally posted such content or information and detail where the content or information is posted. We will make reasonable, good faith efforts to remove the post from prospective public view or anonymize it so the resident cannot be individually identified. This removal process cannot ensure complete or comprehensive removal. For instance, third parties may have republished the post, and archived copies of it may be stored by search engines and other parties that we do not control.
11. DATA SUBJECT RIGHTS
Depending on the state you live in, you may have some or all the rights listed below in relation to information that we have collected about you. However, these rights are not absolute, and in certain cases, we may decline your request as permitted by law, including in the event you reside in a state that does not currently grant you these rights.

- Right to Delete. You may have a right to request that we delete information we maintain about you.
- Right to Correct. You may have a right to request that we correct inaccurate information we maintain about you.

- Right to Opt-out of Targeted Advertising. You may have a right to opt-out of the processing of your information for the purposes of targeted advertising.
You may exercise any of these rights by contacting us using the information in the section below, How to Contact Us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. We may need to collect information from you to verify your identity, such as your email address, government issued ID, or date of birth, before providing a substantive response to the request. Depending on your location, you may designate, in writing or through a power of attorney document, an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf to exercise your rights. Before accepting such a request from an agent, we will require that the agent provide proof you have authorized them to act on your behalf, and we may need you to verify your identity directly with us.

When you submit a request or launch an appeal, we will limit our collection of your information to only what is necessary to securely fulfil your request or process your appeal.
