What Is Air Force COOL?
AF COOL is an online service through the U.S. Department of Defense that provides information about training and funding opportunities that can enhance your career both while serving your country and when returning to civilian life.
Active-duty Air Force, Air Force Reserve, Air Force National Guard, and U.S. Space Force personnel may be eligible for up to $4,500 in financial assistance through AF COOL. However, this funding can only be used with approved educational programs, like MedCerts.
This funding can be used for expenses that include classroom study, hands-on programs, online or blended training, study guides and materials, textbooks, fees, exams, and recertification costs.
In addition to an active-duty status, requirements for these credentialing opportunities include:
-
Possessing a 5-skill level in your Primary Air Force Specialty Code
-
Staying current on the most recent fitness test
-
Having a profile in AFVEC with an approved credentialing goal
-
Receiving supervisor approval
