Talk to a MedCerts Education Consultant Today

You’ve been working hard and studying even harder.

Now it’s time to take your clinical medical assistant certification (CCMA) exam.

Once you pass the CCMA exam, you’ll be a certified clinical medical assistant, which means you’ll be much better prepared and updated on field requirements than other job applicants. It also means you’ll feel all that medical assistant training has paid off.

Plus, most employers prefer to hire experienced and certified candidates.

A few different organizations offer this NHA certification. Whichever organization you use, you’ll want to make sure it’s accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies.

Here at MedCerts, our students go through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

Planning to take the NHA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam?

Here’s what you’ll want to know about the NHA certification:

There are 150 scored items, including 30 pretest questions.

How long is the medical assistant exam?

The CCMA exam is 3 hours long.

How much does it cost?

The exam application costs $155. If you’re a MedCerts student, the CCMA exam cost is covered in your program fees.

What will make up the biggest portion of the exam material?

There will be a strong emphasis on clinical patient care, including general patient care, infection control, testing and lab procedures, phlebotomy, and EKG and cardiovascular testing.

Where do I take the medical assistant NHA certification exam?

If you attend a traditional school, it will likely be on campus. Otherwise, you’ll go to a PSI testing center closest to you.

What should I bring with me on testing day?

Just yourself and a form of identification. You will need to show a valid ID to enter the exam room.

Can I take breaks during the exam?

No, you must finish the test in one continuous session.

When will I get my results?

NHA will officially post your results within two days of scoring your test. You’ll find these results on your account page. Written exam results will be posted within two weeks.

How long will I be certified?

Your NHA certification will be active for two years upon passing the medical assistant certification exam. Be sure to stay on top of continuing education and renewing before your certification expires.

What if I need to reschedule the date of my exam?

Life happens. With that being said, you can reschedule an NHA certification exam date to a new date within six months of the originally scheduled examination date. You won’t have to pay another fee. Find more details about rescheduling on the NHA FAQ page at www.nhanow.com/help-center/faq.

Stay Certified for the Most Updated Industry Knowledge

Knowledge is power, and the medical field is no exception. Your medical assistant training throughout your program has taught you all you need to know to do your job well.

But, you have to stay certified to stay competitive. Taking the CCMA exam and earning your NHA certification shows that you are dedicated, professional and knowledgeable in your field.

If you want to have the best advantage over your peers, stay certified as a medical assistant. New information and best practices are updated all the time, and you’ll stay in the know by keeping atop your NHA certification.
