1. Understanding MyCAA Eligibility
MyCAA stands for Military Spouse Career Advancement Account. It’s a scholarship program that funds short-term training for certifications in portable, high-demand careers like healthcare and IT.
MyCAA funding is available to spouses of qualifying active duty service members in pay grades E-1 to E-9, W-1 to W-3 and O-1 to O-3. Eligible spouses can receive up to $4,000 in assistance, with a limit of $2,000 per fiscal year. MyCAA funding can go toward approved courses that prepare students for career certifications or licenses.
As a MyCAA-approved online training provider, MedCerts offers flexible programs that fit military life. Eligible students must complete all coursework while their spouse is on Title 10 orders, so it’s important to take advantage while you can.
2. Why Cybersecurity Is a Strong MyCAA Pathway
Cybersecurity is a rapidly growing field that moves with you when your spouse gets a PCS. There are remote and hybrid opportunities available across the country, and the demand for talent is only increasing. It’s a great fit for military spouses who enjoy structured work and are interested in technology, problem-solving and digital safety.
This future-proof career doesn’t require a four-year degree, yet still offers substantial salaries of up to six figures.

5. GI BillĀ® Reimbursement as an Additional Option

MedCerts is an authorized school, which means you may be able to combine GI BillĀ® funding with your MyCAA scholarship to minimize the cost of your training. Our IT Security and Network Technician and our IT Support Professional programs are approved for GI BillĀ® reimbursement.
