Make the Most of Army Credentialing Assistance with these 4 IT Programs

Talk to an Army C.A. Education Consultant Today

The most successful military service personnel are those who take full advantage of the opportunities the U.S. Army offers. They position themselves for challenging experiences during their enlistment and take advantage of resources that will prepare them for the future.

Curious about how you can make this happen for you and stand out during and after your service?

A great first step is learning more about the Army COOL program. Short for Credentialing Opportunities On-Line, it’s a database of resources for furthering education through credential programs. With the Army Credentialing Assistance Program (CA), which offers up to $4,000 to use toward credential training each fiscal year, you can find approved credential programs through the COOL site. You’ll be able to build on the discipline and skills you’ve learned already or prepare for a new career within the service or back in civilian life.

Those looking to learn a lucrative and rewarding skillset should consider using their CA funds for IT certification training. There are many job opportunities in the growing information technology field and a variety of career paths obtainable just by stacking certifications.

Choosing the right IT program will help you stay up-to-date and current in the industry. Whether you are new to IT or already have existing skills, this scholarship can give you a competitive edge.

MedCerts offers 10 IT credential programs – all under $4000, and is approved to accept Credentialing Assistance funds. As an online school with self-paced learning, our programs are perfectly suited to fit a busy military life. Below are a few of our IT offerings to help you gain the access to this in-demand skill set.

PC Technician

If you already have a working understanding of computers, consider training as a PC Technician. With this MedCerts training, you will gain the knowledge to earn the internationally recognized CompTIA A+ Certification which includes A+ Essentials and A+ Practical Application. With these certifications, you can earn upwards of $80,000 annually in a civilian career after just 12 weeks of training.

IT Security Specialist

As an IT Security Specialist, you’ll learn to implement and monitor security on networks, applications, and operating systems, and how to respond quickly and effectively to security breaches. This program recommends two years of previous IT experience or that you already hold a Network+ certification and upon completion, you’ll be prepared for CompTIA’s Security+ certification exam.

IT Network Technician

This program, which is also fully funded through the CA program, will teach you to manage and troubleshoot basic network infrastructure and understand and apply network technologies and design principles. In order to become a IT Network Technician, you should already hold the A+ certificate and have 9 to 12 months of networking experience.

Cybersecurity Analyst

If you’re interested in “defensive” strategies against hacking, training as a CyberSecurity Analyst could work for you. In just 5 weeks, you can receive your CySA+ certification, authorized through CompTIA. This program covers the newer approaches to cyber-attacks that have been wreaking havoc in the business IT works in recent years.
