Since 1999, America has celebrated Military Appreciation Month during May due to the many different military-themed holidays this month. MedCerts, an online credentialing academic institution, is proud to participate in the celebrations.

The month-long celebrations include Loyalty Day on May 1st, Victory in Europe Day on May 8th, Military Spouse Appreciation Day on Friday before Mother’s Day, Armed Forces Day on the third Saturday of May, and Memorial Day on the last Monday of May.

Together, these holidays and the commemorative month encourage us all to “reflect upon the sacrifices made by members of the United States Armed Forces and show appreciation for such service.” MedCerts supports its military students and team members during the month of May — and throughout the entire year.

1. Your Own Personalized Military Education Team

MedCerts provides one-on-one support to all its students. MedCerts has Education Consultant teams specifically dedicated to their military spouse students and Army Credentialing Assistance (CA) students. In fact, their entire Army CA team is built of exclusively active duty and veteran team members. These personal education consultants and student success advisors are intimately aware of the unique challenges that military students face.

MedCerts has been working with military and spouse students since 2009 and has been awarded the Military Friendly School designation annually since 2015. Their Student Success Advisors have a unique understanding of the challenges military students face and can offer necessary nudges to keep you on track and address any problems you may face as a result of your military experience.

2. Tuition-Free Opportunities

The U.S. Department of Defense has approved MedCerts as a vendor for financial assistance through the Army Credentialing Assistance (CA) Program, which is offered to active-duty Army, Army Reserve, and National Guard members.

If you are the spouse of an active-duty service member, you may also be eligible for education funds through the My Career Advancement Account (MyCAA). Qualifying spouses receive $4,000 – in increments up to $2,000 per fiscal year – in financial assistance to pay for MyCAA-approved education, training, licenses, certificates, and degrees. MedCerts has been a MyCAA-approved training provider since 2012.

Mickey is a Platoon Leader for the Nevada Army National Guard and has been serving since September 2019. He joined the Army in an act of “now or never” as he neared his 30th birthday and had always dreamed of serving.
