However, eligibility restrictions have limited its availability to certain ranks, preventing some spouses from being able to take advantage of this resource. MyCAA eligibility requires military spouses to be married to active duty service members, or military sponsors on Title 10 orders, only in the ranks of E1 through E5, O1 to O2, and W1 to W2.
Starting March 21, 2023, for a limited time, the Department of Defense has expanded rank eligibility to the first 1,250 approved applicants in the ranks of E6 and O3. This expansion is an incredible opportunity for military spouses in E6 or O3 who may not have had the opportunity to pursue education or career advancement due to budget restrictions. Learn more about the expansion through the Military OneSource site here.
It’s important to note that the MyCAA grant can only be used at approved schools. MedCerts has been an approved MyCAA school since 2012 and has helped over 30,000 military spouses pursue careers in the healthcare and information technology industries. Our online programs are flexible and designed to work around a busy adult schedule. Many cost $2,000, which means they are fully covered by the MyCAA grant with no outside required costs for students. Also, all 50+ programs we offer are in high-demand industries with positions available nationwide. All of this makes MedCerts a perfect match for military spouses looking to take advantage of their MyCAA funding.
