Why MedCerts Is Revamping This Course
The HI1014 course initially relied on resources like instructor-led videos, lesson quizzes, and PDF documents. But MedCerts’ capabilities and access to technologies have significantly improved. We are now committed to offering fully immersive experiences, using advanced technologies like interactive 3D simulations, 2D and 3D skill-based interactivities, augmented reality (AR), and more.
We’ve updated the course so that it integrates these new technologies and aligns with our updated curriculum design standards, content quality standards, and programmatic objectives. We see major benefits for our medical field students when we can use cutting-edge engagement techniques with entertainment and more immersive, high-quality content. We’re also ensuring our courses incorporate the VARK method: learning that involves visual, auditory, reading, and kinesthetics.
Key Changes to the Course
The core changes to HI1014 ensure that students are getting a more interactive, innovative, and engaging experience. The course isn’t changing in length, so it’s still a total of six weeks.
Here are the key updates:
3D and Augmented Reality Integrations
Several 3D and AR immersive activities have been incorporated throughout the length of the course. These provide a deeper exploration of anatomy and an interactive assessment of comprehension.
Students will also use the new AR app for human anatomy and physiology, which shows them a 3D version of the human body’s internal structure, offering a more immersive experience that enhances learning. The app includes around 50 different simulations.
Shortened Instructor Videos
Instructor-led videos will be revised and edited to stay mostly under 10 minutes. These shorter videos support a short attention span so students can grasp concepts more effectively.
3D-Based Medical Terminology Segments
Medical terminology sessions will be transitioned from the instructor-led video format and instead be given through 2D and 3D engagement activities, including gamified assessments.
Learning Management System (LMS) Integration and Quiz Assessments
The new course brings in an enhanced LMS integration and interactive quiz assessments to help students evaluate and manage their learning and comprehension more effectively.
MedCerts’ Commitment to Better Student Experiences
The changes to HI1014 come as we want to provide more immersive, engaging experiences to students in our MedCerts programs. These interactive tools help them better understand the concepts being discussed, allow them to get familiar with the latest tools and technologies, and are more effective for today’s digital-focused audiences.
