What does MyCAA pay for?
MyCAA pays for the tuition costs for training courses, examinations and related educational expenses necessary to obtain an associate degree, a certification or license at a technical/vocational school, college or university. Services from approved testing organizations that expand portable employment or career opportunities for military spouses are also covered.
What does MyCAA not pay for?
If you are wondering “What does MyCAA not cover?” you are not alone. The following list is not comprehensive but does give you an idea of what MyCAA won’t pay for:
- reimbursement for courses already paid for
- student loans for courses already taken
- deposits or pre-payment for a future course unless these costs make up part of a course block
- college or school-level entrance exams, preparatory courses or comprehensive exams
- any type of associated fees which could include parking fees, technology fees and the like
- any type of program used to complete high school including those that use an online format
- associate degrees that fall within the liberal arts, interdisciplinary or general studies area and that don’t have a concentration
- course extensions unless they’ve been approved due to a hardship waiver
- academic credit by examination tests (CLEP)
- tests, fees and/or courses that an employer would typically pay for as part of job training
