If you’re looking for a career in IT that you can grow with, here’s what you need to know about the IT Network Specialist Program.

An Overview of the IT Network Specialist Program

Currently, there are 23,900 entry-level IT networking specialist roles to be filled across the U.S., with a growth rate of 3% over the next 10 years. These numbers mean that getting an IT Network Specialist certification could prove invaluable when making a career change or starting out on your information technology career path.

During your MedCerts program, you’ll gain crucial skills to help you get two certifications: Cisco Certified Technician (CCT) - Routing and Switching and CompTIA Network+. Completing your MedCerts program makes you eligible for both of these certifications..

Program Specifics

This IT Network Specialist program consists of five courses:

  • IT-1012 Customer Service Skills for Techies – 1 week

  • IT-2023 Networking Fundamentals – 1 week

  • IT-2015 Hands-on Python for Networking Professionals – 1 week

  • IT-2016 Cisco Certified Technician Routing and Switching – 1 week

  • IT-2013 Network+ – 6 weeks

The IT Network Specialist program will only take you 10 weeks to complete in total, followed by your two nationally recognized certification exams. Getting certified can lead to careers like network technician (estimated salary: $30,000 to $67,000), network administrator (estimated salary: $39,000 to $70,000), or network installer (estimated salary: $29,000 to $61,000).

Eligibility and Costs

To be eligible for the IT Network Specialist program, you need a high school diploma or GED. As this is an online course, you’ll need the right equipment as well. This means access to a web browser and a reliable connection. You can then register for the course and pay the registration fees.

Cost

Because of this, you have multiple options when it comes to payment: You can pay your tuition in full, make monthly payments that fit your budget, or see if you qualify for grants.
