We’re excited to support you as you continue your learning journey. Online learning offers flexibility, but success depends on staying organized, engaged, and proactive.
Below are best practices to help you start strong and stay on track.

Your Student Advisor – Here to Support You/ Knowing When to Ask for Help
Your Student Advisor is your partner throughout your program, providing guidance, encouragement, and support
- You can find your advisor’s contact information in your Learning Portal (which is your Learning Management System and is often referred to as the LMS), along with a link to schedule a Calendly appointment.
- Your advisor will reach out when you begin the program, once you have been in the program for two weeks, again at the half-way point and upon completion.
- If you have questions or need assistance, are stuck on a lesson, confused by the coursework, don’t hesitate to reach out — your advisor can be contacted by phone, text, or email.
- Asking questions early can prevent small challenges from becoming major obstacles.
Weekly Planning/ Staying Motivated & Engaged Online
Plan to dedicate 15–20 hours per week to coursework. Creating a time management plan can
help you balance school, work, and personal responsibilities.

Building a weekly study schedule and blocking specific times on multiple days for coursework

Breaking assignments into smaller, manageable tasks

Setting realistic goals and deadlines for yourself

Actively engaging with the LMS by logging in and working through lessons.

Tracking your progress and celebrating milestones
Thinking Ahead to Your Certification Exam
Once you complete the program you will be awarded a certificate of completion, this is separate from your certification credential which is earned once you take and pass the national certification exam.
Your coursework is designed to prepare you for certification success. Be intentional about:
- Using course content as your primary study resource
- Reviewing weak areas and revisiting challenging topics regularly

Academic Integrity
Academic integrity is essential. Always complete your own work and use approved resources. This ensures you truly understand the material and are fully prepared for certification and your future career.
Communication & LMS Success
Be sure to read and manage all MedCerts communications, including emails and announcements, as they contain important updates and reminders. Logging into the LMS regularly will help you stay organized, meet deadlines, and maintain momentum.
Starting strong and staying consistent are key to your success. Remember, you’re not alone — your advisor and support team are here to help every step of the way.
We wish you a productive and successful learning experience!
