Medical Scribe Professional

FAQs for MedCerts’ Online Medical Scribe Professional Certification Training Program

A medical scribe is a professional who assists physicians by handling clerical tasks and documenting the details of patient visits to maintain accurate medical records. Their duties include recording patient histories, documenting physician-patient interactions, ordering tests and managing administrative tasks to improve the efficiency of healthcare delivery.

Annually, about 8,100 job openings for medical transcriptionists are projected over the next decade. These openings are largely expected to rise from the need to replace workers who transfer to other occupations or retire.
