Medical Scribe Professional
The demand for Medical Scribes in the United States continues to grow, as more and more physicians and health care providers realize the benefits scribes bring to their practice. Traditionally, for every hour that physicians provide direct facetime to patients – 2 more hours are spent on Electronic Health Records and other clerical work. A growing strategy to decrease this clerical burden is to use Medical Scribes trained to document patient encounters in real-time. Studies have shown that Scribes improved all aspects of physician satisfaction, including overall satisfaction, physician facetime with patients, time spent charting, chart quality, and chart accuracy.
Since the EHR is at the core of a Medical Scribe’s daily job functions, students will gain knowledge of medical clinic workflow systems by engaging and interacting with a Simulated Software Application. Students track a patient from the time the patient calls for an appointment through the entire revenue cycle. The book and software activities included in this program use a building block approach to learning the medical clinic workflow processes. This approach ensures that students are prepared to synthesize and organize medical data into a coherent entry so that it complies with office protocols, federal regulations, and insurance requirements.
The payment for the MSCE credentialing exam is provided by MedCerts, which when passed grant’s status as an Apprentice Medical Scribe Professional (AMSP).

Medical Laboratory Assistant
A Medical Laboratory Assistant (also known as Lab Aid/Assistant, Specimen Processor/collector), is an important member of the laboratory healthcare team. They collect, prepare, and transport patient specimens, and may perform various testing on blood, urine, and other bodily fluids. Lab Assistants perform the tests and procedures that physicians and other healthcare providers order, which are often used for the diagnosis of disease. Depending on the laboratory department, the Medical Lab Assistant may be responsible for test kit management and quality control which includes proper ordering, inventory, and storage. The Medical Lab assistant role will also include accurate documentation, records management, and communication with other ordering physicians. They use microscopes, cell counters, and other sophisticated laboratory equipment. After testing and examining a specimen, they analyze the results and relay them to physicians.
The MedCerts Medical Laboratory Assistant program provides students with immersive and virtual hands-on learning experiences. Procedures are demonstrated using virtual tools or live-recorded video and are simulated – allowing the students to immerse themselves into a virtual experience that is engaging, safe, and repeatable.
This program is ideal for individuals that have an interest in healthcare science and who desire to be part of a highly skilled team in a growing field. To be successful as a Medical Lab Assistant, individuals must be comfortable working with bodily fluids, thus this is not a career for the squeamish. Because of the physical requirements of the job, techs must generally have strong manual dexterity and physical stamina. This program is not only ideal for entry-level career seekers but also provides a great opportunity for those already working in allied health to upskill and advance into a new career direction. This is also a great way for a Phlebotomist to advance his/her career.

IT Security and Network Technician
The IT Security and Network Technician online program is designed for Information Technology (IT) professionals who want to learn networking and administrative skills in Windows-based TCP/IP networks, as well as familiarity with a variety of operating systems, including OS X, Unix or Linux.
Through the Security+ and Network+ courses in this program, you’ll be prepared for a successful, lifelong career in IT.
The Security+ course provides you the opportunity to further your career in IT by acquiring a foundational knowledge of security topics; prepare for the CompTIA Security+ Certification examination; or use Security+ as the foundation for advanced security certifications or career roles.
Learning Network+ means you have the knowledge needed to use and maintain a wide range of networking technologies and validates your proficiency in networking administration and support.
When your program is complete, you’ll be prepared to sit for the Security+ and Network + certification exams, which MedCerts covers the registration costs for. These exams are developed and accredited through CompTIA. Successfully passing these exams will open doors to career opportunities like: Security Architect, Security Engineer, Security Consultant/Specialist, Information Assurance Technician, Security Administrator, Systems Administration, IT System Administrator, Application Systems Administrator and more.
