Is Short-Term Online Career Training Right for You?

If you’re ready for an exciting career in the allied health field, consider becoming a cardio-phlebotomy technician. Cardio-phlebotomy technicians combine the skills of phlebotomists and electrocardiogram (EKG) technicians.

These professionals perform many tasks, such as drawing blood, preparing donations, running EKG and other diagnostic tests and supporting patients with Holter monitors. As a cardio-phlebotomy technician, you’ll be an integral part of the healthcare field.

Why Becoming a Cardio-Phlebotomy Technician Is a Smart Move

With health care seeing such a positive growth outlook, there's no better time to broaden your skill set. Becoming a cardio-phlebotomy technician sets you up with sought-after skills, whether you're new to healthcare or want to upgrade your knowledge. Knowing how to handle different patient tasks puts you more in demand across departments.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), this path could see 8% growth between 2022 and 2032. For salaries, you should look at the average salary for each career. Payscale shows the average 2024 salary of phlebotomy technicians at $36,121 and that of EKG technicians at $41,695.
