Happy National Pharmacy Month! - MedCerts

Is Short-Term Online Career Training Right for You?

October is dedicated to recognizing the hard work of all those working in a pharmacy setting - whether that’s in a hospital, retail store, or any other healthcare environment. The third Tuesday of the month, October 15th, is specifically devoted to celebrating Pharmacy Technicians.

Pharmacy Technicians work under the supervision of the Pharmacist assisting in running the pharmacy. Responsibilities could include filling prescriptions, dispensing medication to patients, administrative tasks like taking prescription requests and handling payment from customers and insurance companies. Pharmaceuticals is a fast-paced industry requiring detail-oriented, ambitious individuals looking to make a positive impact on people’s lives.

At MedCerts, we have a lot of Pharmacy Technicians in our lives – including current students, graduates, and employees. In appreciation of all of their dedication and hard work, we created a video with one of our in-house Pharmacy experts, Jason Priest, about the importance of Pharmacy Technicians, the qualities a good one should have and the rewards of a career in the industry.

Jason Priest has 13 years of experience working in the pharmacy industry, in both retail and hospital settings. He is one of MedCerts Pharmacy Advisors and our Pharmacy Externship Coordinator, helping students gain experiential placement in hospitals and pharmacies across the nation.
