The countdown is on to a new career if you’re interested in joining the IT industry. You could position yourself for your first big interview in just 10 weeks with a MedCerts training program!
An information technology (IT) support professional is the person that fixes a computer or network when it isn’t working right. IT professionals are valuable team members who can help analyze, troubleshoot and evaluate technology issues for clients.
Many IT support professionals work in-house with internal clients (or co-workers), although the role can often be done remotely through the telephone or webchat. These specialists are the ones who make sure other employees stay productive and happy.
Sometimes, these tech pros may be tasked with working with external customers, helping to teach certain business-related programs or working to resolve issues. For example, if someone’s Wi-Fi router goes out, it’s the IT support pro who helps reestablish an internet connection.
If you’ve ever known the frustration that comes from tech failures, you’ll understand why the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics expects an 8% growth in jobs for IT support professionals over the next decade. The median pay is $55,510 a year.
Before the 10-week countdown clock begins, you’ll need to prepare yourself to begin MedCerts’ online training program. There are three important steps:
Speak to an advisor. MedCerts has trained and experienced Education Consultants available to discuss the process before you even sign up for your first training. They’ll help you better understand the path to success as you grow in your new IT career.
Sign up for the course. IT 1000 prepares you for the certifications that future employers will want to see on your resume and creates a foundation of confidence for landing your first job.
The training program lasts 10 weeks, and you can complete your classes online at any time throughout the day or week. All the costs for exams, books, and materials are included, as well as the services of a personalized student advisor for individualized support.
There are four modules within the course. They are:

CompTIA IT Fundamentals
The skills you’ll learn along the way include supporting and maintaining computers and setting up basic computer security. You'll also learn the fundamentals of computer technology and networking. You’ll be able to identify hardware, peripheral, networking and security components, as well as install and configure PC workstations with Windows OS and SOHO networks.
After the training, MedCerts will support you as you prepare for your first job. You’ll benefit from dedicated student success advisors, exam preparation procedures and a career services coach.
It won’t take long before you’ve begun your new career in information technology.
