Here’s How to Become an IT Support Professional in 10 Weeks - MedCerts

Is Short-Term Online Career Training Right for You?

The countdown is on to a new career if you’re interested in joining the IT industry. You could position yourself for your first big interview in just 10 weeks with a MedCerts training program!

An information technology (IT) support professional is the person that fixes a computer or network when it isn’t working right. IT professionals are valuable team members who can help analyze, troubleshoot and evaluate technology issues for clients.

Many IT support professionals work in-house with internal clients (or co-workers), although the role can often be done remotely through the telephone or webchat. These specialists are the ones who make sure other employees stay productive and happy.

Sometimes, these tech pros may be tasked with working with external customers, helping to teach certain business-related programs or working to resolve issues. For example, if someone’s Wi-Fi router goes out, it’s the IT support pro who helps reestablish an internet connection.

If you’ve ever known the frustration that comes from tech failures, you’ll understand why the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics expects an 8% growth in jobs for IT support professionals over the next decade. The median pay is $55,510 a year.

What Happens Before Training

Before the 10-week countdown clock begins, you’ll need to prepare yourself to begin MedCerts’ online training program. There are three important steps:
