High Flex Classrooms Help Students Thrive (Here’s Why) - MedCerts

Is Short-Term Online Career Training Right for You?

The digital transformation that’s swept our society hasn’t bypassed schools. During and after the COVID-19 pandemic, educational organizations pivoted to online lessons out of necessity. Although there were disadvantages to mandatory online classes, many students and educators also discovered advantages to them.

Benefits of High Flex Classrooms

Hyflex – also called high flex or hybrid flexible – classrooms combine the benefits of online and in-person classes. Teachers deliver content for both in-person and online students, and students can choose the best method. Hybrid flexible course design can help your clients thrive with the following benefits:

Customized learning experience

Hyflex classes allow students to pick and choose from digital or traditional learning options. Students aren’t locked into a particular choice. If they prefer to access the online lessons this week and attend class next week, they can.

Switching back and forth between digital and traditional learning gives students the flexibility to find the best fit as their needs change. They can learn at a time that’s most convenient for them and allows them to continue to meet work and family obligations while they’re training for a new career.

Greater course accessibility

Nontraditional students are often at a disadvantage in traditional educational settings. For example, they may have to take care of children or work other jobs while they’re in school. Hyflex learning allows greater accessibility to nontraditional students. They can rewatch courses and access course materials if they struggle with a concept.

In a traditional classroom, students with learning disabilities may get left behind if they can’t take notes fast enough to keep up with the speaker. In a hyflex classroom, they don’t have to struggle because they can freely access all of the videos, interactive demos, and readings as often as they want.

Increased flexibility for different learning styles

Students who have different learning styles often thrive in hyflex courses. Instead of being confined to one learning style – a lecturer standing in front of the class presenting the material, they can choose the learning method that suits them best. Some of your clients may learn better by reading, while others may learn better by participating in an interactive demonstration.

More tech-based learning innovations

Hyflex classrooms can take advantage of innovative ed-tech learning solutions. Students can do hands-on learning in virtual environments that allow them to practice the real-world skills they’re learning.

AI-enabled interactive skills activities let your clients develop the skills they need to become proficient in new careers. In addition, they can master learning outcomes by working through multiple pathways.
