In Focus: IT Network Technician (A Program Deep Dive) - MedCerts

Is Short-Term Online Career Training Right for You?

Companies depend on network technicians to keep their systems running. Network technicians are skilled professionals who install, maintain and repair computer networks.

Network technicians' essential skills put them in high demand. More than 9,000 entry-level jobs are available across the United States, and experts predict the field will continue to grow.

MedCerts's IT Network Technician program lets you train online for this exciting career – in as little as six weeks.

What Will You Learn?

The IT Network Technician Program teaches the skills you need to run a typical corporate computer network. You'll learn the basic principles of computer networking and how to apply those principles using today's popular technologies.

MedCerts covers all the skills you'll need to succeed in a network technician role. Get ready to learn how to:

  • Install wired and wireless networks

  • Test and troubleshoot installed networks

  • Diagnose performance and connection issues

  • Apply industry standards and use popular tools

You'll practice configuring and manipulating networks using hands-on simulations, which MedCerts has built into the curriculum to give you a fully engaging educational experience.

Who Can Enroll?

The program is open to any adult with a high school diploma or GED. Because all coursework is online, you need access to a web browser and an internet connection.

CompTIA recommends that students earn the lower-level A+ certification or build relevant experience before attempting the Network+ exam. The A+ certification tests user-level knowledge, which MedCerts teaches in the PC Technician or Helpdesk Administrator course.

The course costs $2,300 out of pocket, and payment plans are available. Some students, including active-duty military and military spouses, may qualify for tuition assistance.

Your tuition includes access to the fully online curriculum, regular skill assessments and access to our student support team. It also covers the fee for your certification exam.

What Certification Is Available?

Students who complete the program can apply for the CompTIA Network+ certification. Network+ is a nationally recognized credential with the backing of leading manufacturers, distributors and publications.

The Network+ certification is your stepping stone to jobs like Network Installer or Network Support Technician. You can build on this experience to advance in the IT industry.

It all starts with your online MedCerts course, which you can complete on your own time from anywhere.

What Makes MedCerts Special?

MedCerts has harnessed the full potential of online learning to create engaging and immersive training. Each program touches on all 12 elements of eLearning, including:

  • 3D animated task demonstrations

  • Virtual scenarios with artificial intelligence (AI) conversation partners

But MedCerts doesn't leave you alone to engage with the material. You'll have on-demand access to student support professionals dedicated to helping you succeed.
