Cloud computing is no longer the wave of the future—it’s already here. Statistics show that 94% of all enterprises currently use cloud technology and that number continues to grow. Nearly 60% of companies expect their cloud spend to increase in the next few years.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the market’s dominant cloud provider and platform, owning almost half of the entire public cloud infrastructure. Proficiency with AWS is an enormous asset for all IT professionals working in the cloud space.

Through the AWS Solutions Architect Associate program from MedCerts, you can learn the skills you need to build a career in this growing space.

Who Is the Program For?

The AWS Solutions Architect Associate program is ideal for experienced IT professionals who want to develop professionally, expand their earning power and show proficiency in today’s top cloud computing platform.

Students who register should have two to three years of experience in networking, network storage or data center administration.

Curriculum

The 10-week program centers on two Amazon Web Services courses:

  • AWS Essentials. This is a one-week basic introduction to the platform. It covers all essential terminology and functionalities including access management, storage and database possibilities.

  • AWS Solutions Architect-Associate. This course goes into more depth, teaching you how to integrate AWS services into cloud-based infrastructure. In this six-week course, you’ll learn how to design and deploy an AWS solution.

‌The program also includes a two-week Microsoft Office Series I to ensure student proficiency in Word and Excel, two of the top five baseline skills required of IT candidates.

Because cloud architecture design will require you to work closely with clients, the AWS Solutions Architect-Associate program also includes a week-long customer service module. Those who complete the module receive Customer Service Certification, which you can apply to any industry or role.

Once you complete the entire program, you will be eligible to apply for the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (SAA-CO2) certification.

Certification Benefits

The SAA-CO2 credential shows employers that you can:

  • ‌Apply and explain cloud computing and AWS-specific concepts

  • Build a unique solution using best architectural design practices

  • ‌Guide an organization through the implementation of an original solution

  • ‌Use AWS’s networking and storage capacity to benefit a client organization

  • ‌Work with the AWS management console and help clients to navigate it

‌This skill set can make you a competitive candidate for many different AWS architect positions, some of which pay up to $146,000 a year.

Program Cost

The out-of-pocket cost for the AWS Solutions Architect-Associate program is $2,200 if you pay up-front. There are also payment plans available that may allow you to spread the cost over four to 12 months, possibly with 0% interest.

There may also be workforce development funding available for military spouses, active-duty service members and other eligible candidates. Ask an enrollment specialist for more details.

Getting Started

There’s never been a better time to boost your cloud computing proficiency. ‌Since AWS leads the cloud computing pack, it’s a lucrative platform to focus on. MedCerts’s AWS Solutions Architect Associate program can qualify you for certification in as few as 10 weeks.
