“I recently finished the Medical Assistant course. It was a great program. Between books, videos, activities, and simtics it was a broken down and understandable. I finished a few days ago, and today already have my first job offer❤ This is definitely the program if you're a busy, self motivated person.”

The MedCerts online Clinical Medical Professional program prepares students to gain industry certification and ultimately work as a Medical Assistant with patients in hospitals, clinics, physician's offices, and other healthcare facilities. This program contains two additional courses specifically designed to prepare you with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform blood draws, collect and handle blood and non-blood specimens as a phlebotomist, and administer EKGs and other diagnostic tests, while maintaining a safe clinical environment, as an electrocardiographer.
Knowledge of front office skills like scheduling, verifying patient and insurance info will make you an asset in any healthcare environment, all of which you’ll learn in the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) course.
Once you’ve completed this well-rounded 36-week program, you’ll be prepared with the knowledge for 4 certification exams. The Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exam, the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam, the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) and Certified EKG Technician (CET) certifications, all of which are sponsored by the NHA. The EKG and CPT certifications call for additional clinical requirements – 30 successful venipunctures and 10 capillary sticks necessary for Phlebotomy certification, and 10 EKG readings required for the EKG certification – which can be completed once hired as a Medical Assistant.
*This program has a clinical requirement of 30 venipuncture and 10 capillary sticks for the CPT exam and to perform a minimum of 10 EKGs on live individuals for the CET exam. Certifications are issued once the exam(s)have been passed and clinical requirements are met. Students are responsible for locating and securing a site to fulfill the clinical requirements of the program. MedCerts cannot guarantee they will find a student a site to complete this clinical requirement, so only students employed in a healthcare facility or take full responsibility for meeting their clinical requirements will be admitted to the program.
**PLEASE NOTE: 1) This program is NOT available to students who plan to work in the state of Washington. Students in the state of California ARE eligible for this program, as the primary certification is CCMA (Medical Assistant). However, this program does not meet California’s phlebotomy requirements and students will need additional qualifications to obtain the CPT certification. This MedCerts program is aligned with and/or prepares candidates for certification or licensure in all other states. 2) While MedCerts training and related target certifications may be accepted and/or approved by your state of residency, employers reserve the right to dictate pre-requisite education, experience, or certification/licensure requirements for their positions. We strongly advise students to research target job posts from area employers and relevant state requirements, barriers, or restrictions prior to enrollment to ensure eligibility upon graduation.
