MedCerts’ Medical Coding and Billing Professional program covers foundational, intermediate, and professional-level topics to allow graduates a clear pathway towards a rewarding career in billing and coding, primarily in a physician office-based environment. This 28-week online dual-certification program provides training in areas including Human Anatomy, Medical Terminology, Insurance Billing and Coding Essentials, and Medical Coding. Dual certification with MCBC and CPC-A or CCS-P can increase marketability, flexibility, and opportunity in the field of medical coding and insurance reimbursement in the outpatient setting.
Students begin in the H1-1011: Insurance and Billing, and Coding Essentials course by gaining a high-level understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding without the use of coding manuals, in preparation for the Medical Coder and Biller Certification (MCBC). This course is a building block and provides a foundation for progression to an advanced understanding of medical coding.
Moving towards intermediate- and professional-level topics, the H1-1051: Medical Coding course provides comprehensive instruction related to reviewing documentation, abstracting details, and assigning medical codes for diagnoses, procedures, and professional services. Extensive focus and familiarity with use of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding manuals and official coding guidelines will provide the tools needed to challenge the Certified Professional Coder as an apprentice (CPC-A) or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician (CCS-P) certification. Both certifications are considered "professional-level."
The primary objective for this program is to give the student the tools needed to successfully pass the MCBC examination. Once MCBC-certified, students are eligible for the optional, but valuable, CPC or CCS-P certification, both of which are considered the gold standard for medical coding in physician office settings. Those who pass the CPC examination earn the credential CPC-A. When the CPC-A (apprentice) is ultimately combined with one (1) year of practical coding experience, the individual earns the full CPC designation. Medical Coders holding professional-level certifications are critical to compliant and profitable medical practices and typically earn 20% more than non-certified coders.
The payment for the MCBC and either the CPC or CCS-P exam is provided by MedCerts.

MedCerts NASM Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach program teaches the knowledge and skills to earn two certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) – Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and Certified Nutrition Coach (CNC).
Students must have the physical strength and experience to model proper form when completing exercises, should possess basic experience in operating gym equipment, and be comfortable giving instructions on how to use it. Personal Trainers should also be comfortable writing fitness and health reports for clients, providing positive reinforcement and strategizing their methods to meet and exceed their clients’ health goals.
NASM’s Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) certification is the gold standard in the industry and is the preferred certification by most employers. It is NCCA-accredited, which is vitally important as many gyms and fitness centers only accept accredited certifications. The combination of the Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and Certified Nutrition Coach (CNC) certifications set MedCerts trained candidates apart from other trainers and opens more career opportunities. Trainers with both certifications can reach a wider group of potential clients which leads to higher earning potential.
Because graduates will be working in a healthcare facility, it is imperative that they be able to speak and understand the language of medicine and have a fundamental understanding of basic human anatomy and physiology. As such, HI-1014: Introduction to Human Anatomy and Medical Terminology is included to lay this important foundation.
Today’s top job candidates not only need to be prepared to pass a certification exam but also must be equipped with soft skills and knowledge that allow for success on the job in any environment. This program contains training in professionalism designed with input from employers and professionals in the field of allied health. PS-1011: Professionalism in Allied Health equips students with essential soft skills that are in demand and expected by employers in a competitive job market.
Candidates will be required to provide evidence of current Adult CPR and AED certification prior to attempting the CPT certification examination. NASM provides a list of approved training providers. The responsibility for obtaining these certifications is solely on the candidate, as MedCerts does not provide this training.
The NASM Certified Personal Trainer certification must be recertified every two years to ensure that NASM-CPTs stay up to date with current best-practice guidelines and skills. To recertify, you will be required to earn 2.0 NASM-approved CEUs (20 contact hours) every two-year certification period. This includes 0.1 CEUs from the mandatory CPR/AED certification. Renewal of the Certified Nutrition Coach (CNC) is required every two years through completion of the CNC Renewal Exam. The CNC Renewal Exam will offer three exam attempts and will have an enrollment duration of 365 days. The CNC Renewal Exam will recertify the credential for another two years from the new completion date.
IT 2250
The IT-2250: Networking Specialist program is recommended for beginning IT professionals looking to start in the field of networking. Networking is the backbone of the entire IT industry, and at its core is communication. Communicating between networks allows people to connect, share information, and collaborate. This program is designed to provide a foundational, or entry-level pathway toward two key networking certifications well known throughout the world of IT: Cisco Certified Technician (Routing and Switching), and CompTIA Network+.
This comprehensive program begins with Customer Service Skills for Techies, which teaches critical soft skills that help students improve their communication and customer service skills – but with an emphasis on improving these skills in an IT environment. From there, the foundations of networking are presented in Networking Fundamentals. The course contains almost 30 modules that cover a wide range of networking concepts – and provides a great launching-off point for the next three courses in the program.
The networking community has chosen Python as the language of choice to use for Network Programmability and allows individuals to build scripts to automate network configurations. It’s the most widely used programming language for networking today and an essential skill for network engineers to learn now. As such, this program contains a short course – Hands-on Python for Networking Professionals.
The Cisco Certified Technician (CCT) credential is ideally suited to someone who has little or no Cisco or networking experience - especially if the candidate wants to focus their career on working with Cisco products. Candidates who successfully pass the Cisco CCT exam will be able to service, repair, and hot-swap Cisco products, be familiar with the Cisco UCS and NX-OS operating modes, and be able to navigate and use the Cisco Graphical User Interface. Considered by many industry professionals to be the best foundation for Cisco networking beginners, the CCT Routing and Switching credential focuses on on-site support and maintenance of Cisco routers, switches, and operating environments. The Cisco Certified Technician Routing and Switching course adequately prepares the student for the final course in the program, Network+.
Earning Network+ Certification means the student has the knowledge needed to use and maintain a wide range of networking technologies and validates their proficiency in networking administration and support. Students learn through hands-on labs, demo activities, and recorded video lectures. CompTIA Network+ validates the technical skills needed to securely establish, maintain, and troubleshoot the essential networks that businesses rely on. Unlike the CCT certification, CompTIA Network+ prepares candidates to support networks on any platform.
Upon completion, MedCerts will sponsor the cost of both the CCT Routing and Switching and Network+ exams.

The demand for Medical Scribes in the United States continues to grow, as more and more physicians and health care providers realize the benefits scribes bring to their practice. Traditionally, for every hour that physicians provide direct facetime to patients - 2 more hours are spent on Electronic Health Records and other clerical work. A growing strategy to decrease this clerical burden is to use Medical Scribes trained to document patient encounters in real-time. Studies have shown that Scribes improved all aspects of physician satisfaction, including overall satisfaction, physician facetime with patients, time spent charting, chart quality, and chart accuracy.
Since the EHR is at the core of a Medical Scribe’s daily job functions, students will gain knowledge of medical clinic workflow systems by engaging and interacting with a Simulated Software Application. Students track a patient from the time the patient calls for an appointment through the entire revenue cycle. The book and software activities included in this program use a building block approach to learning the medical clinic workflow processes. This approach ensures that students are prepared to synthesize and organize medical data into a coherent entry so that it complies with office protocols, federal regulations, and insurance requirements.

While learning a clinical skill with phlebotomy online classes sounds like a unique idea, our highly immersive, tech-enabled program is designed to replicate the real-world experience through professionally produced simulations, 3D animations and the 12 Elements of eLearning model. You’ll learn the proper procedure for blood draw, keeping a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment and how to assemble and maintain equipment such as needles and specimen containers.
After completion of our Phlebotomy training program, you will have the knowledge to pass the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam, issued through the NHA (National Healthcareer Association), and begin your career in healthcare.
Phlebotomy Certification Exam Eligibility:
Upon completion of this program, students wishing to sit for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician exam will be required to complete 30 venipunctures and 10 capillary sticks on a live person. Students should already be working in the field to complete this requirement.
NOTE: This Phlebotomy certification program is NOT available to students who plan to work in the states of California or Washington. Many states have licensing or certification requirements for those performing the role of a Phlebotomist. This MedCerts program is aligned with and/or prepares candidates for certification or licensure in each state except California and Washington.
While MedCerts training and related target certifications may be accepted and/or approved by your state of residency, employers reserve the right to dictate pre-requisite education, experience, or certification/licensure requirements for their positions. We strongly advise students to research target job posts from area employers and relevant state requirements, barriers, or restrictions prior to enrollment to ensure eligibility upon graduation.

Achieve the Certified Professional Coder certification with the CPC credential or the Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-based (CCS-P) – both of which are the gold standard for medical coding in physician office settings.
This 22-week program includes two courses: Intro to Human Anatomy & Medical Terminology and Medical Coding. Regardless of the choice of the exam, you’ll learn principles of medical coding related to the three main codebooks: CPT, ICD-10-CM Volumes 1 & 2, and HCPCS Level II. The Medical Coding textbook contains access to a coding software that allows for coding practice even AFTER the completion of the course. The software allows for hands-on demonstration of learned coding skills.
Our partnership with the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) and the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) enables you to have the tools needed to successfully pass the CPC examination or the CCS-P examination. Those passing the CPC examination earn the credential, CPC-A. When the CPC-A (apprentice) is ultimately combined with one year of practical coding experience, you’ll earn the full CPC designation.

The MedCerts online Sterile Processing program prepares students to gain industry certification and ultimately to work in hospitals, surgery centers, clinics and other healthcare facilities.
This program includes three courses – Intro to Human Anatomy and Medical Terminology, Professionalism in Allied Health, and Sterile Processing – to prepare students to become well-rounded Sterile Processing Technicians. Because graduates will be working in a healthcare facility, it is imperative that they be able to speak and understand the language of medicine and have a fundamental understanding of basic human anatomy and physiology. Additionally, any role in healthcare requires the ability to work with a variety of personalities, including patients, doctors and medical staff. Our Professionalism in Allied Health program prepares you to handle any of these interactions. Because sterile processing tasks, by nature, typically involve hands-on interaction, it’s important for MedCerts to place increased focus on immersion and a high level of interactivity. Our students will feel as though they are part of the process, and that their physical actions are playing a vital role in their learning.
Upon completion of this program, the student will be eligible to sit for the provisional certification exam for Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) sponsored by the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA, formerly IAHCSMM). Full certification is obtained after acquiring 400 hours of hands-on sterile processing experience within six months of provisional certification.
